2019 Emerging Leader Award

Stephen Tyler Shultz, PT, DPT has been awarded the APTA 2019 Emerging Leader Award representing the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association! Tyler graduated in 2011 and is currently an Assistant Professor at Wingate University. He is also a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.

Tyler integrated his talents into component operations initially with the nominating committee. He took an active interest in the development of a new role for NCPTA, Director-at -Large, Communications. He took point drafting the position description for this role as well as writing the Standard Operating Procedures for Communications.

Last year, as a member of the nominating committee, he assisted in putting together the largest and most robust slate of candidates in many years. Tyler was recently promoted to the Nominating Committee Chairperson.

Congratulations Tyler! We are very fortunate to have Tyler as a member and we are confident he will continue to serve NCPTA and APTA for many years to come. Watch for the December PT Magazine which will highlight Tyler and all component emerging leaders!
