Award Eligibility

• Must have at least 10 years membership in APTA (any Chapter) including 5 years of APTA NC membership
• Must be nominated by a licensed APTA NC member
• Nomination form (includes Letter of Recommendation)
• 1 Additional Letter of Recommendation from an APTA NC member
• CV/resume
• Other Letters of Recommendation accepted

The purpose of the Founders’ Lecture is to acknowledge and honor APTA NC members who, through their dedication to the profession of physical therapy and through their visionary leadership, have become mentors to others and who have made contributions of exceptional and enduring value. It provides the recipient with the opportunity to share his/her achievements and ideas with the membership through a lecture presented at the APTA NC Awards Ceremony.

Recipient must have made substantial contributions to the PT profession through achievements in one or more of the following areas:

• Advancement of the mission of APTA NC
• Utilization of exceptional ability, vision, and influence to promote physical therapy in NC
• Service as a role model, providing incentive for other members to reach their highest potential
• Utilization of talents in writing, teaching, research, administration, and/or clinical practice to assist APTA NC and its members in achieving their goals.

Winners will receive

• Awards ceremony announcement 
• Commemorative plaque
• Highlight in APTA NC newsletter & website
• $100 reward to help defray travel and lodging expenses

The following year, the recipient will receive:

• Free registration for the APTA NC annual conference
• 15-20 min lecture time at Awards Ceremony
